Am enamored with technology, but can't understand how some people lose all sense of good manners when emailing back and forth. Today for instance, my one email was off line (something crashed in the lala land of the web). So I used my personal email to follow up on some earlier emails. Hello, different addresses, server etc.....so when my work email comes up, I have a lady responding in all caps (even I know that means screaming). didn't you read me earlier emails??? Well, no I hadn't, but did you look at where my last emails came from? Don't scream at me. A couple of deep breaths and I sent a polite thank you and wished her a good weekend. Of course this was after she'd left for the day. (Evil giggle). It's not like I bug her all the time. Get a grip people. What you think is important today may not even be remembered in your later years. Chill pill anyone? I just don't get how rude some people can be. I bet they are chicken shits in person. And speaking of rude. Some sales folks need to take some chill pills. Yes, it's a job. And yes, you are probably overworked and underpaid, but for crying out loud. You are there to help me spend money. Customer service is a bitch. I've been there. I could be as nice as I could be but could hardly wait for the idiot customer to get out of hearing range to let loose with a string of words, or question my sanity. Of course I've been caught by a customer that returned unbeknownst to me.
In my early 20's I worked for a huge bank in No. Va. Waited on a drive thru customer who had no clue what she wanted done (probably should not have been behind the wheel). I had her come inside. I went over to the branch mgr to tell him what the problem was. Of course, she came in, stood right behind me and overheard my rant. Even then it didn't take much for my button to be pushed, and this woman had my number. I think I broke my toe when I kicked the wall in the bathroom.
The older I get, the less stuff I put up with. I have no patience for stupidity and airs. We are all humans. Or I think we are.
